The idea should transfer over to Unbound or dnsmasq or whatever DNS resolver/server you use.

The Lifeboat Team are mostly known for their Survival Games minigame which has many detailed maps, most of which are ported from the PC edition of the game. It is also one of the original MCPE servers and it has been around for a long time. Here's my CoreDNS Corefile if you wanna try it out. MCPE-101093 So I dont know if this happens to a lot of people but this has been since 1.14 and what happens is that I chat in a server but the chat that I send wont appear for other people, and no I havent been muted by the servers. Lifeboat is a Minecraft Pocket Edition server and is probably the mosy well-known server for that platform. I don't have an XB1 so if someone that does could confirm, that would be great? I suspect this might also work for the Xbox One if it can connect to Lifeboat and have its DNS server changeable, or maybe it gets it via DHCP.

It works almost flawlessly, just like on macOS and Windows 10. I got a quick CoreDNS server up configured to rewrite requests from, Lifeboat's Bedrock Edition server FQDN, to my own server running on port 19132, changed my Switch's DNS server to this CoreDNS instance and joined Lifeboat, which got rewritten to my own server's IP. We also know that Minecraft does not have their IPs hardcoded in its codebase, but instead looks up the servers' hostname via DNS, the DNS server being modifiable via the Switch's settings. I was pretty bummed out to hear that you couldn't connect to a BDS on the Switch, not because of technical reasons, but because of platform restrictions, which got me investigating.Īs you know, the Switch can connect only to the Microsoft-approved servers, of which there are currently 5, so the mechanism for connecting to a server exists and works on a Switch.
